Sandro’s FW’23 Collection Plays With Oppositions & Preppy Palettes
Sandro Paris continues to tug on the human’s innate desire to play with oppositions.
When one dares to venture outside the confines of classic linens and neutral polos, they tend to find that an array of never-before-explored textures and silhouettes do in fact, exist. Whilst opting for looks that boast a sort of tender yacht owning entrepreneur aesthetic is, at times, socially preferable, what one truly needs to secure that high-stake investment or cheeky date is a slightly more experimental outfit (or in this case, closet).
For Parisienne brand, Sandro’s FW '23 collection, they sought to embody those sentiments, elegantly re-imaging the world that defines a traditional Sandro man and woman. A typical Sandro man would often be seen blissfully toying around with typically iron-clad codes of dressing. Whilst harbouring a certain preference for pieces that are minimal, soft, and tinged with 90s nostalgia, he can often be spotted, at least this time of year, in a slightly more autumnally hued ensemble.
That said, a slew of single-breasted brown and maroon suits, leather loafers and military-inspired boots can be seen marrying formality and casualness in Sandro’s FW '23 collection. Crafted from cashmere, yak and boiled wool, the collection’s shearling bombers, cardigans and polos serve as elevated closet staples. Despite adhering to classic colours and timeless silhouettes, the brand’s FW '23 collection boasts pieces that depart from what one would normally refer to as ‘minimal’. Amidst the neutral hues, New York-like imagery and textures imbue the collection with flame prints, full-length trench leather trench coats, laminated logos, 70s jogging suits.
For its FW '23 womenswear collection, Sandro tugged on contrasting hues and the human’s innate desire to play with oppositions. It embodies the notion that femininity can linger far beyond preppy ensembles and that power can also be found and honed within rhinestone covered garments and lingerie-inspired details. Pleated skirts, soft satins, and oversized leather jackets perfectly complement the lace cut-outs and second-skin-like bodysuits. To further emphasise the dual identity suggested in their newest collection, Sandro deliberately interwove the precariousness of shiny embellishments with the understated allure of matte details to create garments that mirror urban city life.
