Before music videos became as much about the outfit as the song, Elissa was already giving us plenty to look back on. Across the 2000s and 2010s, her music videos took us through laundromats, weddings, romantic dates and dramatic relationship breakdowns, all while putting her in looks that feel instantly tied to their respective eras.

From the ultra-thin brows and bodycon silhouettes of the early 2000s to the sweeping gowns and unapologetically dramatic styling that followed, Elissa’s video wardrobe has its own visual timeline. So, in the name of nostalgia and a little bit of fashion archaeology, we’re revisiting four of her most memorable music video looks.

Ajmal Ihssas | 2002


For Ajmal Ihssas, Elissa steps into a white halter dress for what is apparently the ultimate romantic date night. The activity of choice? Cutting up fruit and making juice with her man, naturally. The dress is sleek and fitted, perfectly in keeping with early-2000s eveningwear, although you’ll have to be quick to catch it. The video cuts between frames so frequently that getting a proper look at the outfit almost becomes a challenge in itself.








Kol Yom F Omry | 2004

For 'Kol Yom F Omry', romance apparently happens at the laundromat. Elissa wears a red spaghetti-strap bodycon dress, paired with messy, pin-straight hair and eyebrows so thin they could disappear if you blinked. Everything about the look feels unmistakably 2004, from the silhouette to the beauty styling, making it one of those music-video moments that immediately transports you back to the era.






Aa Bali Habibi | 2009

And then, naturally, there is the wedding dress. In 'Aa Bali Habibi', Elissa wears a gorgeous mermaid gown with a sweetheart neckline, giving us yet another instalment in what seems to be an extensive collection of fictional music-video weddings. How many times has Elissa gotten married across her music videos? We may never know, but if the dresses are anything to go by, she has certainly had a busy bridal career.





Tebet Menak | 2013

Then came 'Tebet Menak', where subtlety was very much left at the door. Elissa wears a full-length baby pink gown with long sleeves, a completely bare back and a thigh-high slit running up the back of the dress. The video itself is peak music-video drama, centred around a partner who cannot quite handle the fact that Elissa is, well, Elissa. She even stands beside a giant billboard of herself at one point, making the whole thing feel like a very literal exercise in main-character energy.
