From cowhide cut raw to pleats pressed into architecture, the Texture Edit gathers designers across MENA and beyond who are using surface, structure and material as the starting point of design.

The SceneStyled 'Texture Index' Edit

Texture is fashion’s quiet instigator — the thing you feel before you notice silhouette, the detail that lingers after colour fades. This edit traces the ways designers are pushing fabric, surface, and form into new registers. Diesel Arabia’s Quantum Sneaker folds mesh and rubber into futurist armour for the foot; Hide Project stretches cowhide into sculptural tailoring that reads more animal than garment. Anomalous’ Muscle Bomber swells with padding, while Menage 07’s Unit 0.8 manipulates synthetics into a shell of sharp geometry.

On the international stage, Coperni slips branding directly into cloth with a logo necklace dress that doubles as signage, and Issey Miyake continues his long investigation into pleats with Press & Pressed, collapsing fabric into engineered folds. Zimmerman works appliqué into hypnotic spirals, Dina Shaker deconstructs and reworks textiles in her SS25 drop, and Elias Riga layers volume into La Bowème for a tactile romanticism. The material story extends into accessories: Nado’s Jewellery works black onyx against a foil-effect surface in 21k gold, while Trashy Clothing brings texture to politics in a look aptly titled Arsenal of Democracy.

Together, they suggest that texture isn’t embellishment, but rather the point — the fabric speaking back.

Diesel Arabia | Quantum Sneaker

Diesel Arabia’s Quantum sneaker layers mesh, rubber and metallic accents into a technical build. The exaggerated sole and panelled construction give it the feel of protective gear, aligning with the brand’s industrial aesthetic.

Hide Project | COW-HIDE – AW25 – Look 2–4

Hide Project works directly with cowhide, cutting it into tailored jackets and trousers. The natural markings and raw seams are kept visible, making the material’s origin central to the design.

Anomalous | Muscle Bomber

The Muscle Bomber expands on the traditional silhouette with heavy padding across the arms and torso. Its inflated proportions exaggerate bulk to the point where texture becomes the defining feature.

Menage 07 | Unit 0.8

Unit 0.8 is built from synthetic layers formed into sharp, geometric shells. The garment is structured to sit away from the body, reading more like an exoskeleton than clothing.

Coperni | Logo Necklace Dress

Coperni integrates branding into construction with a dress that frames the neckline in a metallic logo necklace. The garment is minimal in cut, allowing the hardware to become its focal point.

Issey Miyake | SS25 ‘Press & Pressed’

Miyake’s Press & Pressed continues the house’s long study of pleating, this time producing rigid, sculptural folds. The technique turns soft fabric into shapes that hold their own structure.

Zimmermann | Hypnotic Appliqué Midi Skirt

Zimmermann’s appliqué midi skirt layers spiral motifs across sheer fabric. The repetition creates optical depth, a textured surface designed to catch light and movement.

Dina Shaker | SS25 Unseen / Drop 3

Shaker’s third drop in the Unseen series reconstructs textiles into asymmetric shapes. Layered denim and uneven hems highlight texture through disruption rather than polish.

Elias Riga | La Bowème Look 11

In La Bowème Look 11, Riga builds volume through oversized bows in embroidered fabric. The layered repetition turns a romantic detail into a structural element.

Nado’s Jewellery | Bordi Collection 21k Ring

Nado’s Bordi ring sets polished black onyx in 21k gold. The foil-effect surface treatment adds fractured texture to the smooth stone, creating contrast in miniature.

Trashy Clothing | AW24/SS25 Look 23 ‘Arsenal of Democracy’

Trashy Clothing’s Arsenal of Democracy combines draping and textiles into a militarised silhouette. The metal belt detail reinforces the collection’s political undertone.
