‘The Process’ Behind Amina K’s Newest Capsule Collection

Her winter collection is made for everyday wear, the exposed seams, cutouts and patchwork detailing add an effortless flair.

Born in a country more known for its fabric than fabrications, Amina K’s newest capsule collection ‘The Process’ deconstructs garments to deliver a story on Egyptian craftsmanship. In true Amina K fashion, seams and silhouettes morph from traditional guidelines into mere suggestions. Whilst the garments still stick to the brand’s signature aesthetics they also simultaneously forge new ways of conceptualising statement pieces.

“This collection is about taking things apart, building them up and showcasing the people cutting, sewing and drawing the garments,” Amina K tells @SceneStyled. “As we exit the realm of fast fashion and  dive into sustainable releases, I wanted the clothes to serve as a reflection of the journey, the research and the a-ha moments. I wanted the woman wearing it to see every detail that goes into making a timeless garment.”

In line with Amina K’s core philosophy, the collection is designed with longevity in mind. Whilst each piece in her winter collection is made for everyday wear, the exposed seams, cutouts and patchwork detailing add an effortless unfinished flair. The collection’s sweaters, cardigans and polished trousers intermingle loosely draped silhouettes with those of tailored made garments, adding an edgy twist on winter attire.
