The Old Cairo Edit With Egyptian Stylist Belal Hassan
Hassan drew from the layers of Egypt’s intricate past for this edit, reimagining motifs of Old Cairo for the modern wearer.
Belal Hassan is a rising stylist and art director in Egypt’s fashion scene, carving out his niche as a stylist with an eye for detail and flair. Over the years, he’s styled a range of Egyptian brands that include Cielo Denim, Nada Sroor Jewellery, Vivian Moawad, Soter, Six Figures and Rbah Collective, showcasing his knack for local fashion and tastes. Most recently, he also styled Egyptian artist Abo El Anwar for his EP ‘Saheb El Sa’ada’.
Drawn to the world of style early on, he started his journey working with global brands like LC Waikiki and Zara five years ago, where he honed his craft. It was there he discovered his love for curating outfits, and the thrill of creating looks that express personality. “Styling is all about freedom- freedom to experiment, to explore new ideas, and to see how fashion can transform,” Hassan tells Scene Styled.
For a curated edit deriving from Old Cairo’s heritage with a contemporary twist, there’s no better match for the job.
