Shahira Lasheen Expands Couture Universe With a Debut Bag Collection

Egyptian couture house Shahira Lasheen has launched its first bag collection, extending the work of its Garden City atelier into accessories.

The collection centres on one signature silhouette produced in several fabrics and colourways. Floral embroidery, satin ribbons, piping and handcrafted embellishments are incorporated into each design, with every bag requiring approximately 40 hours of handwork, according to the house.

For founder and creative director Shahira Lasheen, the collection carries the atelier’s approach into a piece designed for regular use. “I have always loved the idea of creating something that becomes part of a woman’s life beyond an occasion,” she says. “I wanted to take the world we have built inside the atelier and give it another form.”

The bags were first shown privately in Marassi during a Shahira Lasheen event held in collaboration with Charlotte Tilbury. They can now be ordered through the house’s atelier in Garden City, Cairo, with international orders arranged remotely through its official channels.
