Local Label Anippe Flows Like Water With Avant Garde Designs

Amorphous in nature, the collection is an ode to the ebb and flow of open water.

If Mugler decided to birth an Egyptian counterpart it would probably hold similar silhouettes to newly-launched local label, Anippe. The brand positions itself as an ode to Greek gods and the high fashion archives overhauling our Twitter feeds. An intermingling of sharply cut blazers and unfinished silhouettes, Anippe’s FW 2023 ‘Behold The Rise of Anippe’ alters mainstream perceptions on shape and colour blocking.

“The brand is meant to embellish feminine characteristics, making women feel unique in the process,” Shaza Khedr, Creative Director and Co-Founder of Anippe tells SceneStyled. “It operates haphazardly and offers a re-birth, much like how the Nile enriches the land, follows an unusual direction and acts as a window to the great beyond.”

Amorphous in nature, the collection is an ode to the ebb and flow of open water. Stylistically mimicked in its creation, the clothing unfurls and unfinished flair that is akin to Vivienne Westwood’s structured corsets and French label Courrèges’s deconstructed workwear. It follows an eighties-adjacent colour scheme; one that is further supplemented with bold cut-outs and mesh tights and that beckons you to step outside rigid traditional confines.
