Egyptian Label Heiza Studios Creates Garments With Cerebral Layers
Meet the brand that designed wardrobes for Mohamed Ramadan and Wegz.

What does it take for a garment to truly stand out? There is a fine balance between an item of clothing being so explicitly peculiar that it detracts conversations, and an item being plain, mass-produced, and not worth noting. In between the two, there are collections of garments that simply scaffold a conversation. They’re there, but they don’t need to be addressed. These are the type of garments that Egyptian brand Heiza Studios crafts.
While you might not know it, there’s a good chance you’ve seen Heiza worn - not only by fashionable friends, but also by Egyptian celebrities. I mean, Heiza even worked with Egypt’s ‘Number One’; they prepared Mohamed Ramadan’s wardrobe for his Ramadan show ‘Madfaa Ramadan’. They also custom made a wool silk half-zip sweater for Egyptian rap icon Wegz for a 2024 Liv Golf show in Riyadh. For both celebrities and regular customers, Heiza adopts a tailored approach to their collections. Each individual peace is made by the Heiza team of three tailors - and one wood artisan - either to a set size or for custom measurements, which you can simply specify when ordering from their website. The tailoring team brings the dreams of Ismail Heiza, the founder, creative director and designer of Heiza, to life.
“Heiza is all about transforming ideas into tangible expressions,” Ismail Heiza tells Scene Styled, “It’s more than just aesthetics; we believe our designs to be a powerful tool for communication, innovation and inspiration.”After graduating from University of the Arts in London, Heiza set out to create a creative studio where his heritage of craftsmanship can be honoured alongside modern design technologies. As a result, Heiza has a look that is both futuristic and grounded. “We push the boundaries of what's possible while staying true to our roots.”
Heiza’s most prized collection is ‘Cortex’, which Heiza describes as “an exploration of the human brain’s evolution and its interconnectedness across civilisations and eras.” This collection is meant to jumpstart synapses and get ideas to flow, spanning clothing, jewellery, bags, furniture and even a set of original short films, all directed by the Heiza founder. Each piece in Cortex is crafted to portray how Heiza imagines iconic thinkers’ brains to be. “Each piece in the collection is crafted from materials that aren't usually combined, shaped with intricate artistry to inspire curiosity. It’s a journey through layered design and cerebral storytelling.”
