How does the saying go? Keep your friends close but your French pastries closer? Well, it’s definitely something like that. Lebanese jewellery designer Nadine Ghosn, renowned for her whimsical and culinary-inspired creations crafted from precious metals and gems, developed such a profound affection for a particular pastry that she found herself compelled to keep it close to her heart at all times.

Collaborating with renowned French pastry chef Cédric Grolet, executive chef at Paris’ Le Meurice, Nadine Ghosn brought Grolet’s signature pain au chocolat to gilded, glorious life. Crafted from 18K gold and meticulously sculpted to mimic the fine flaky lines of a proper Parisienne pain du chocolat, the limited edition collector’s charm comes at a whopping EUR 8,800 - but you can’t put a price on art, can you?
