Under the moonlit skies, Altalune's debut collection, 'Fancy Sand,' signals the arrival of a promising new local label. Founded in June by business graduate Mirna Selim, Altalune uses an alluring palette of lustrous satins, sequins, and crystals in minimalist silhouettes. "Altalune came to be in a spur-of-the-moment decision," founder Mirna Selim tells Scene Styled. "People had been complimenting my style and encouraging me to do something with it - and that's how Altalune was born."

Selim's passion shines through in designs like the Camp shirt and Gala pants, which effortlessly mix casual and elegant elements, and the Sunset halter sequin top that unleashes a burst of glimmer against a backdrop of midnight blues. The Midnight Crystal dress, a vision of black satin embellished with crystal pieces, glimmers like a night sky awash with stars.

Taking its name from the Latin for 'moon,' Altalune aims to become a timeless brand, a constant against trends. "Fashion is an integral part of my identity, what I want to convey, and now Altalune is the very fabric into which I weave my own story," adds Selim.

Although Altalune began as a budding endeavour, Selim's determination and luminous designs have already drawn attention. "At first, I thought Altalune would stay small," Selim admits, "but we've only just launched, and I've already been contacted by celebrity stylists - it feels surreal."

The debut collection offers evening wear for every occasion, with the Camp shirt and pants ideal for cocktail hour, the halter top perfect for a night on the town, and the Midnight Crystal dress making a statement anywhere it shines. "Seeing people donning my designs instills within me a feeling I can't describe," Selim shares. "I feel so proud."

Altalune promises to elevate the Egyptian fashion scene with accessible luxury and a love of craft. "I'm not your typical fast fashion brand," Selim notes. "I want to make a statement with my pieces." Altalune is a moonrise on the horizon, a shimmering glow heralding the advent of a singular new vision that promises to illuminate the Egyptian fashion scene.
