This Eid, NYC-Moroccan Label Louhaichy unveils a limited-edition ring release — Free Congo, Free Palestine, Free Sudan — designed in New York City.
Founded by actress and designer Zina Louhaichy, the label is shaped by her Moroccan heritage and New York upbringing. Conceived as a love letter to both places, Louhaichy uses fashion to complicate reductive Western readings of North Africa and the narrow expectations often placed on women from the region. As Louhaichy puts it, “I create for those who find home everywhere and nowhere all at once.”
To mark the release, Louhaichy wrote and directed a series of short vignettes shot across Brooklyn, placing the rings within the texture of everyday city life while centering Palestinian, Sudanese, and Congolese voices. There is a particular energy running through New York — in the blur of subway reflections, the flash of manicured nails, and the fragments of languages carried through the street. Set in beauty salons, African markets, and neighborhood corners, the vignettes capture these unguarded moments of diasporic life.
One hundred percent of proceeds from the rings will be donated to a charity of the buyer’s choice, including Women for Women, Mutual Aid Sudan, PCRF, and RFLGD.
