Chambray Blue for the Summer? These Regional Brands Say Yes
Originating from France’s Cambrai region, this fabric - and its inspired hue - would come to be a fashion staple.

Originating in France’s Cambrai region, chambray is a natural fabric crafted from either linen or cotton. Dense in essence but fine in feel, chambray is quite similar to denim and, over the years, has often been used as its substitute, dyed with the same customary shade of blue.
However, given the fabric's nature, blue dye does not take to chambray the way it does to denim, resulting in a shade now aptly referred to as ‘Chambray Blue’. For this week’s Monochrome Monday curation, we’ve picked out our favorite pieces from throughout the region that showcase the hue.
