Caribbean-Born Italian Label MC2 Saint Barth is Now in Egypt

MC2 Saint Barth has arrived in Egypt. The Italian resortwear label, which has spent the past three decades building a wardrobe around the rituals of summer, is making its local debut through Nile Projects - the retail group behind the introduction of brands including Burberry and Ferragamo to the Egyptian market.

Few places understand the label's language better than Egypt. MC2 Saint Barth was built on the Mediterranean idea that summer is a lifestyle, one crafted around long lunches, salt-dried hair, clothes that move from sand to dinner table without a second thought. Sahel runs on the exact same schedule. MC2 Saint Barth’s swim shorts, linen shirts and easy separates are made for exactly the kind of day the North Coast has perfected: worn in the water, thrown on at the beach bar, still holding up by sunset.Take the label's fabric beach bag, for example, which clearly states that "The place to be” is in a “summer paradise" - whether it be in Italy, Saint Barth’s, or Egypt's North Coast. In pastels or paisley patterns, it holds all the sunscreen, beach towels, and outfit changes a full day on the beach requires. An Italian summer wardrobe, it turns out, needs no translation at all.
